Waste Minimization Guidebook

with Best Practices in Chemical, Food Processing, Foundry and Pulp & Paper Industries

The Waste Minimization Guidebook is a product of the Waste Minimization Pilot Project (WMPP) of the Environmental Management with Public and Private Sector Ownership (EMPOWER) Project funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The Guidebook documents actual waste minimization efforts of selected model companies. It is intended for the use of industry associations, company decision-makers, plant managers, and supervisors. Special attention was given to the food processing, foundries, pulp and paper and chemical industries.

The Guidebook also introduces other EM approaches such as:

  • Environmental Cost Accounting (ECA)
  • Greening the Supply Chain Management (GSCM)
  • Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Life cycle Analysis (LCA)
  • Eco-labelling
Complimentary copies of the Guidebook are available (pick-up basis only). For inquiries, contact PBE
