Industrial Waste Exchange Program
The Industrial Waste Exchange Program (IWEP) encourages the exchange of waste of one industry by another industry for re-use or recycling. The ultimate goal of the waste exchange is to:
  • reduce the environmental impacts from industrial waste disposal
  • generate economic returns through the promotion of resource recovery from industrial waste

How does IWEP work?

IWEP maintains a database of waste generators and waste buyers/recyclers that can be potentially matched. IWEP participants have the option of being featured in the quarterly publication of the PBE (Business and Environment magazine) and in the IEM Knowledge Network (www.iem.net.ph)

Some examples of successful waste exchanges are glass cullets used for remanufacture of glass, used engine oil converted into two-stroke engine (2T) oil, and used solvents processed and used as degreaser.

To register and be included in the database, download the IWEP Listing Form and email or fax to PBE.
