Environmental Learning, Leadership and Motivation

(Getting Managers & Employees to Walk the Talk)
September 2-3, 2004

Recognizing that Sustainable Development, like most good ideas, is easier said than done, the Seminar aims to help companies identify barriers to adoption of sustainable development at the workplace and understand why it is vital to change attitudes and motivate employees to support corporate environmental policy. It explores practices, tools and techniques to help managers close the gap between policy and practices.

The Resource Persons will be coming from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). They will use a range of presentation techniques, including e-learning tools and training module demonstrations to guide participants throughout the seminar and give ample opportunity for practical sharing and exploration.

Objectives of the training:

  • help managers and environmental officers develop/enhance environmental leadership qualities
  • identify and discuss workplace challenges for adopting SD practices
  • learn different tools and techniques for motivating employees to adopt workplace practices that support corporate environmental policies

Topics include:

  • Challenges of Mainstreaming SD
  • Managing SD in the workplace and motivating employees
  • Industry Codes of Conduct
  • Eco-efficiency Module and Demonstration
  • E-Learning Tutorials/Tools
