INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

EMS Manual for Semiconductor Industries

The semiconductor and electronics industries recognize the impact to the environment from the discharge of heavy metals and toxic emissions, and high energy and water consumption.

To address these issues, the Semiconductors and Electronics Industries of the Philippines, Inc. (SEIPI), a non-profit organization incorporated in 1984, published the “INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT” Manual in collaboration with PBE.

The manual serves as a guide to SEIPI member companies on ways to minimize wastes, practice environmental management and environmental stewardship, improve productivity and meet international standards.

Target Users

• Semiconductor and electronics plant owners/managers embarking on an environmental management system (EMS).
• Managers and other employees in companies with existing EMS or for input to enhance existing ones.
• New employees being oriented to the company’s EMS, especially those in the production line.
• “Laymen” or non-technical readers studying the viability of environmentally-supportive technological management.

Scope

• Basic essentials needed to start an environmental system in an existing semiconductor or electronics factory.
• Technical recommendations pertaining to waste management-reduction and minimization. The few ideas for process change do not entail major costs. Most processes are described in general terms.
• All-around non technical recommendations for integration of environmental responsibility into all company concerns—policies, management system, employee education, community relations, and others.
• The manual is an independent study and is not in partnership with other environmental standards and systems including the ISO.

The Manual is for sale at Php 600.00 per copy. Secure a copy now!!!
